The Director of Business Development will be responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing, and corporate partnerships for enterprise software and analysis services within a market segment or geography (to be determined based on applicant’s experience and Sunairio’s got-to-market strategy). These responsibilities include:
Identifying, originating, and qualifying a new business pipeline of companies throughout the renewable energy lifecycle
Managing, customizing, and optimizing a customer relationship management (CRM) platform
Identifying business-essential KPIs and reporting on them at regular intervals
Closing deals with total contract value in excess of $1 MM/yr
Cultivating relationships with key stakeholders in the energy and renewable energy sectors such as major utilities and international renewables developers
Researching market trends and their potential impact on Sunairio’s business
Generating content for social media and blog posts that demonstrate Sunairio’s value proposition
Working closely with the Sunairio CEO and CTO to ensure product development activities meet customer requirements
Translating feedback from customer calls into suggestions for new products and features that fill gaps
Maintaining relationships with existing customers to guarantee user satisfaction and customer success
Documenting case studies based on successful customer projects
Representing Sunairio at industry events and conferences
A passion for building new solutions that drive the energy transition
4+ years of experience in enterprise software sales/business development, with a proven ability to originate deal flow and execute transactions
BA/BS (Master’s or MBA desirable)
Experience selling software services for analytics, risk management, project finance or financial trading
Professional experience in energy, weather, or climate tech sectors
A creative problem-solver with outstanding communication and organizational skills and a commitment to excellence
