As the world transitions to renewable energy, the global economy will become more dependent on weather than at any point since the Industrial Revolution. And due to climate change, the weather that our future economy is tied to will be drastically different from the weather we’ve historically experienced. This means that managing weather-based risk, and weather-based variability is the number #1 challenge facing the energy grid.

Sunairio’s mission is to disrupt weather prediction as we know it to build the most advanced platform for valuing, managing, and operating renewable energy. Instead of relying on physics-based weather models that are bias-prone and slow, we use machine learning and advanced statistics to generate high-fidelity simulations of future weather risk–and we do this on multi-year timescales at hourly (or less) resolution. We work with renewable energy project developers, storage operators, energy buyers, energy suppliers, portfolio managers, traders, and utilities to deliver actionable insights into the hardest energy problems.

The Director of Business Development will be responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing, and corporate partnerships for enterprise software and analysis services within a market segment or geography (to be determined based on applicant’s experience and Sunairio’s go-to-market strategy).
